@1ronnie I had a brief conversation with a new acquaintance yesterday. He and his wife both drive a Tesla - he drives an earlier version his wife the latest. I asked him about performance, refuelling (in Western Australia) etc. and he said they had done a few extensive trips and never had a problem with refuelling, the cars lasted a long time, and you have refuelling stops even on long treks, but you have to know where to find them. He adores driving his car, was a professional driver all his life.
So they are the future!
As far as Elon Musk is concerned: he is fascinating, but I think he has a touch of 'something' - maybe ADHD - he flits from project to project, seems to do absolutely everything in his life disproportionately if compared to Mister Average, but I guess it comes with the territory; exceptional people are often like this.
IMO: He'll pull another rabbit out of the hat.
