..this below an excerpt from Market Online:

Pilbara Minerals remains the most heavily shorted stock on the ASX, purely because investors expect lithium prices to fall further.

Of course, the cycle will eventually take us back to a point where demand outpaces supply and lithium prices rise again. The general consensus is this will happen in 2028 – a view held by market-leading advisory Benchmark Minerals Intelligence (BMI.)

And come 2028, the Western Australian Pilbara region will become globally significant once again. After all, Australia is the world’s largest lithium exporter – followed by Chile, which is where this story now takes us.

....lithium hodlers find comfort that the sun has not set on the lithium space.

....do they have 4 years to wait or prepared for a protracted winter hibernation as this thread had warned about for months now?

....and you not think that within that 4 year period, the US market is not going into a meltdown or sharp correction ?

....I think it is more likely the US equity market faces a notable major correction before lithium price can rise again materially under a lithium market deficit scenario.

....if you put a commercial cap on, the biggest cue was when ALB stepped away from the LTR TO, hunkered down on lithium expansion, raise billion dollar capital raise and did mass layoff - and lithium hodlers stood in denial what the industry leader did in action.

As I did say "Watch what they do, not what they say".

The lithium growth game now has stepped away from higher pricing to higher production. The actions of SQM (to expand production with Codelco) and PLS (to increase production capacity) are indicative that revenue growth in the future comes from higher production output, rather than price.

And that folks mean the future for lithium favours the bigger lithium companies with strong Govt support and war chest playing the volume game.
