1. cheapest to produce there
2. ready and biggest domestic market in the world
3. marquee for higher end market in China
4. supply chain, logistics and skilled auto labour

...Germany wants to buy Australian lithium? Its like Modi saying India wants to be 30% EV by 2030. All Govt talk, but reality is dictated by commercial realities. India's EV is a two wheeler! And commercial realities remain skewed towards China holding the advantage in most respects.
