For the rest of the population the simple fact is that their brains have never been developed (IE exercised) to the point that they can follow a technical discussion beyond about two levels and these are the people with fire in their eyes who are making the decisions It's all in the maths The lack of power to charge all those new EVs The tendency to create huge expensive fires No established routine to fight fires - except let it burn - days, weeks The second hand car value dropping to zero The reports of roads breaking up due to the increased weight of new EVs on the roads The poor range for general use, where the temperature plays a big role The fact is that there is no guaranteed recycling in place for the lithium batteries Hundreds of thousands of new charging stations to be built, who is paying for them Insurance is becoming scarce or not available Blocked from many car parks thru-out the world The infrastructure required for EVs is only feasible when everyone drives an EV There is no such thing as a few EVs, it is all or nothing The thing is the list could go on a lot longer but as I have said the people who are making the decisions do not understand what I have written anyway, so EVs will continue to be sold until the whole system falls apart then the general public will be bankrupt paying to fix the mess, a mess that is clearly visable

One of the few people who can see EVs will never be viable with lithium ion batteries. The whole lithium thing is a scam or ponzi. Why do I invest there? Because the marority believes it and governments have become good at pushing scams at the expense of taxpayes. There will be a few more booms and good money is to be made before the whole thing falls apart. I can say this in lithium forums without any effect as they think I am nuts and downramping their investments. Technology generally moves in threes and the second solution is never the final one and often short lived.
