The only decent part of the EV game is the reduction in reliance on middle eastern oil. In theory at least.
I have only ever seen one reference to this aim. ie to take away the economic power of the middle eastern dictators who are using petro dollars to buy out the West.
The original public face of the anti fossil fuel push was the "Club of Rome".
Then environmentalists ran with it so labor had to tail end this push.
Now the wealth is being transferred from the ME to China because they are cashing in on all the solar panels, batteries, wind mills and EVs etc.
Thus we witness the never ending river of climate bs from the usual opportunists.
