LFP batteries are/ will be preferred for standard range mass produced ( cheap) EVs that is well understood by JK and the COB team. Cobalt will however always be required for long range/ performance EVs, Energy Storage Systems ( ESS) and other uses. the argument has always been how much can these EV Manufacturers thrift cobalt out of their batteries and the answer is... not completely... so the way I see it there is room for COB and JRV and no need to put COB down in order to raise up JRV and vice versa!
