The article in the Australian was quite succinct in its costs (do you read the papers?? - or just use google net & yoohoo tube?))

There is NO capability of base load & the cost is prohibitive at A$600 Billion dollars for a 1.5 day base load battery (whether that be a series of big batteries or a smart battery set up)

Would hate to run the numbers ont he amount of Co, Li ect & the spike in Co2 that would be associated with building that network, before it claws back (& then have to rinse & repeat in 20 years).

V batteries are looking more promising with a 40 + year life for large scale.

China again making great in roads in that area along with safe, secure 24 /7 no CO2 producing Nuclear as their base (no to mention the world biggest hydo)

RJ Scaringe, CEO of Rivian, made the comment in a new interview with The Drive:“You’re starting to get into the long tail of use cases, but even there we’ve designed the vehicle so you can have auxiliary battery packs. You can also charge Rivian-to-Rivian, which is a neat thing. You connect the two vehicles and then I could hand you some electrons. That takes us to the limit, and of course you can always find a corner of the world where it won’t work, just like you can’t find a gas station in Antarctica. You won’t be able to find a plug in Antarctica, so there are natural limitations.”
