To further emphasis a point in 2016 Norway had 8.26 tons of co2 emisions per person. It has come down but not as much as you would expect.

At 15.8 tons. the US is still mcuh higher but has actually comedown more since 2000 in both % and tons. 25% 5 Tons per person US, . 12% 1 ton per person Norway

I think this is important because it shows the different impacts. Untill the grid is cleaner Electric cars will have a negative impact on total WW CO2 emisions. They may clean up some cities with severe problems but at the cost of more polution where the power plants are located. For now the best reduction is Hybrids that do not plug in. I delibertly leave type out lets not confuse this important issue.

Wind, solar, geothermal, tidal and other technoligies will help. But untill the base load is generated by something like travalling wave reactors I doubt the grid can achieve it. Unfortunatly the mases are incapable of understanding the diference between enriched U 238 and preasurized water and newer technology. they have fits as soon as nuclier is mentioned. Irational fear of radiation is not Unique to Malaysia.
