A few of us have predicted this for some years already, but seems there will be blanket ban on ICE cars (including MHEV-ICE) in the Eu from 2035. But, this is far removed from reality. IMO from 2025 vast majority of cars sold in the Eu will be EV (BEV/PHEV), followed by a few years transition to 100% BEV. Later this year, Euro7 will be presented, which will officially outline this, but the writing is on the wall.
I believe we already at some point in 2022 will hit 50% monthly EV sales in the major EU car markets. All forms of ICE (incl MHEV-ICE) are dead. Thankfully.
I currently live in Hampstead, London, and I love listening to the sounds - or the lack thereof - through the open window. Sometimes there are 3-4 BEVs in a row driving past, and the mild electric hum as they pass my building is such a welcome break from the vromming of ICE cars.
And, as I've detailed in earlier posts, there is about 10x the amount of NdPr in EV vs ICE. What's not to like?
