    When I was a teenager in the mid 60s I recall speaking with my grandfather about how the world was changing. He was born in 1881 and saw the transition from horse to motor vehicle in the years from around 1910-1930. The same argument was put up by the conservatives back then. Too expensive, only has a short range, my horse can graze alongside of the roads. Limited number of refuelling stations. License fees too high.

    It is purely the mindset of an aging population...............they simply refuse to embrace change. Crank up the fear factor and you will win their votes.
