I guess that all depends on where and how you work and if you are retired or just drive around the city or town. There is also the additional expense to install solar panels on your house and not to forget many now live in apartments without the ability to install. So your simple solution may be fine for someone that sits on their backside at home all day with nothing better to do than make a schedule for their days , washing ironing and shopping but for me it is a big NO.
