The Collins class submarines are electric and have 4 X 99 cells with each cell weighing 1200 kg which are strategically placed at the bottom of the boat to act as a ballast. The maximum time they can last underwater is maximum two weeks before going up to periscope height to recharge the batteries using three on board noisy generators. Submarines are about stealth and silence which make battery submarines useless in the South China Sea where they are needed! So what has they got to do with off road vehicles.
