    Hello anyone out there.

“EV sales - Their impact on Altura?”

I feel this is a valid topic to start a thread with a view to collating discussion and any  other
contributions that may arise on this crucial subject.

    - To begin, I note  James Brown said in AJM’s last announcement -
Sales and Shipping Update June 20, 2020 -
... “There is no doubt we are still learning more about the entire supply chain .....”
This supply chain includes - at the top of the tree - the vehicles that created the whole roadshow and drive most of the supply chain’s current  demand.
(So, there is no doubt,  more heads than just those at Altura are  studying the impact of EV take up?)

    So some links, largely collated from other threads, and thoughts;

    HOW ARE THEY SELLING ?

MacWood reported  in 2019 total global EV sales numbered 2.2 million [ref].
It predicted,  in early April - before French, German and other EV stimulation measures were announced that EV sales in 2020 would fall by 43% to 1.3M.

A gloomy outlook and indicative of some hard ‘lessons learned’ given that, on February 20, 2029  WiredUK [ref] had  quoted a 2017 Deloitte Report [ref] which had anticipated 2020 global EV sales in 2020 would top 4 million.
“In Europe alone, 540,000 electric cars will be sold this year, an increase from 319,000 last year,*”
wrote Wired journalist, Nicole Cobie.....( not citing a reference, nor apparently curious about which countries  would be buying the remaining more than 3.6M vehicles.)
(*nb also different figures linked by @Rupfel today [here] stating 560,000 EVs were sold in Europe in 2019) [ref].

Notably CoVid19 had not bitten as hard into populations and economies when the Wired story was written
....CoVid19 was decared a pandemic by WHO on March 11, 2020 [ref]

The Macintosh Wood update was published on April 8, 2020 - just one month later

Since that report was published more lessons will no doubt be learned from the massive EV incentive measures have been announced by France and Germany?
    [May 27, 2029 France -USD$13.2 bn ]
    [June 4, 2020 Germany - USD$150bn]

    and more..

    cheers
