PHEV's work for many people i'm sure but standard hybrids I don't get either unless it's pretty much a strictly around town car, taxis love them and they pretty much ended the LPG in Australia overnight. Our current ICE diesels run in the mid 5's for consumption and I don't see a lot of Hybrids beating that.
I don't own an EV yet but won't be long just waiting for the new Chinese models and Kia's EV5 to arrive before making a decision, going out next week with a friend in his Recharge for my wife to experience being chauffeured in an EV.
