    Yes - like the batteries - "that make EV's unnecessarily heavy ". Cant compromise safety.

    Have always argued the electric car will not save the planet.

    Our tech i snot yet good enough, although some tranction now on solid state batteries.

    There is no reason an electric car shoul duse more material & be heavier than a Toyota Sahara.

    Batteries need a 10 fold or more improvement is capasity & storage.

    Elon is pushing the look how fast I am barrow.......because it is easy & something that is not usable in the real world.

    I don't want to charge my electric every day on my commute to work, along with 1000's of others I see.

    My diesel golf give me circa 900 -1,000 k range on the highway commute & a once a week fill.

    The other poster re getting the network first in place is right.

    Build say 6 nuclear powerplants for base load coverage.

    We need to do more with less.
