I can't believe that people can't believe that more money is lost from people having their gold stolen from their personal possession than through their allocated gold not being there.


Because gold is valuable and is easily melted down etc, etc, it doesn't matter where it is: it is always at risk.

If you want to take the risk of taking possession of physical, storing physical and then selling it when the time comes: then go for it, just admit to and accept the risk.
