Its just that the company seemed to be encouraging people to convert otherwise why would they phone as in your case to find out whether you were converting your options.
But guess you are right. He was entitled to make his own decision. In my earlier post where I was annoyed, it was simply that the company appeared to be encouraging, promoting conversion and in that instance you would expect the CEO might do so.
