The more I read about this entire farce the more I think that this thing will blow over post the election. This is so much more about politicians making themselves LOOK tough on the environment rather than actually giving a damn about the environment.
The media add to the problem by intentionally leaving out words like 'invalid/inaccurate results' when referring to the detection of chemicals at Kingaroy. Nothing like a bit of media sensationalism...as evidenced by the attempt in this article to wrap the whole gas industry in QLD up in it.

I just hope Cougar have the coin to deal with being the 'scapegoat' for the next few weeks in order to be able to resume operations in late August. The SP will take a big hit when trading resumes but personally I am going to stick with it on the belief this will be a thing of the past this time next year. I'm holding until 2012.
