It happens with many stocks every day! Hedge funds & large broking houses do so each day, making BILLIONS of dollars trading the market with med-large stocks.

Currently uranium stocks are hot property, it is not just us on hotcopper that are seeing what 2007 will bring. Australia is a hot place in the search for uranium, & Aussie U stocks are being saught after. So if a party wanted a large stake in AGS, say 5 million shares, it is worth the "trouble" in capping the price while they accumulate. This has been done to AGS a number of times in the past, sometimes cleverly, other times quite obviously.

Currently I think AGS is undergoing what most other U stocks are undergoing, that is a letting off of steam. I also think we might have a large seller taking profits. Nothing wrong with that. I think a $2.30 pre-jorc share price was a bit high, and they couldnt resist.

Remember there are people out there that bought hundreds of thousands of AGS @ 6 cents! For them to sell half & take profits with 50% CGT relief & still hold 200k for the upside makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Great that you are on board ... AGS will be a great investment in 2007 (& beyond!)
