Agree the contact with staff cannot do any harm and is a good thing for people at AMP wanting to work there and in the end good for clients and shareholders.
In terms of messages/comms/positioning with external world I really don’t get the amp strategy or activities. The advert about the investor in all of us does not match with flogging off the investment business and doesn’t support the bank or advice related product sales which is about long term savings, not investing.
in terms of advertising the bank they need something to advertise. If they genuinely come up with an easy to use application process and friendly rules for direct clients they may have something to promote. And if they make it easy, both in terms of process and approval rules for brokers they may get a increased share of broker sales. I am not sure they will get rich by promoting deposit products. Trouble is…..how is it amp will be able to achieve this and others not?
