re: to leaping_a LA: The Kalej case was really dead in the water. Far too difficult to prove. The case was building up from a stack of straws; not tight enough, not heavy enough and too shaky. The Jews would have lost it, I think. In any case there were even now, probably much bigger fish to fry; and that's why I think everyone dropped it like a hot potato. Jack Straw didn't want to dirty his hands with a failure. Methinketh!
