Uranium is an extremely common and plentiful element. It is literally everywhere.
Bannerman's hope was to finance and build a mine whilst the price of uranium was artificially high due to short/medium term shortage. Look at Rossing - up until 2 years ago it was apparently planned for decommissioning.
Uranium will absolutely be an important mineral in the coming century but if the price of uranium reverts to a more 'normal' level then Bannerman's mine won't be economical. They have only a relatively small window before hundreds of other hopefuls start operating, and only the lowest cost survive. Bannerman will not have the lowest cost mine and hence will not survive.
