PHIL1's motivation is this. He lost a lot of money on BMN. He now wants to destroy that which has hurt him. It is a personality trait that is likely to be causing problems elsewhere in his life, not just the stockmarket. PHIL1 displays a thinking style that whipsaws between extreme optimism and extreme pessimism. This almost certainly prevents him from forming a rational, balanced view of a situation. It likely manifests in him not having much to show for his efforts in his various endeavours.
