I would imagine that God is an opportunity and not an outcome. The outcome, the ethos, the consequences are all human.
What is missing is empathy, love, respect whatsoever in as inculcated by a higher form of God, replaced by one of our own image, regardless of whether God exists or not.
We need to start imagining the God that loves all human life as running religious belief, not the one in club colours.
And it would help if we stopped imagining an interventionist God, we reap what we sow. That dude does not intervene.
