I had two people very close to me relate NDEs, my mother who was a card carrying atheist and my closest friend who was deeply religious. They spoke to me because they knew I was a bit open to this kind of thing. I don't believe they ever told another soul of their experience and in both cases the retelling occurred some time after the event.
Both became emotionally shattered in the retelling even though their stories were both positive, it was more about the effect the retelling had on them, it still resonated deeply to the core of their being and brought them undone. Also there is an otherworldly nature about NDEs that undermine all we think we know.
