Supply of large flake shouldn't be an issue. If and when the EV market regains its momentum, and more graphite mines come on line to supply the small and fine flake market, there will be more large flake available than ever. Its the demand side of the equation that is paramount for our JV.
To dismiss what Metachem is doing directly downstream of the Panthera JV is non-sensical. Manufacturers of fire-retardants and other products that require expandable graphite (the product that our JV is producing) are our offtake market.
Why would our JV be planning expansion if we didn't have offtake lining up? I always wondered why Metachem wouldn/t just go it alone and construct an EG plant themselves. You are right in that supply will be an important cog in the equation down the track. Vertical integration does reduce risk of supply issues down the track when operating at a much larger scale. At this stage, supply is not an issue.
