I'm only relatively new to investing in the ASX (apart from my Super of course).

I spent quite a few years having an "interest" and playing hypothetically, but didn't make a financial commitment until investing in GL1 (and then a few others) in 2021 and experiencing some "addictive" success... thanks to the Li boom.

I've mentioned the above previously, but I'm repeating it to give this post some additional context.

Mining exploration companies generally enter the ASX as an IPO with a handful of tenements and a "focus" that is sufficient for them to create an attractive prospectus.... and off they go. A lot of those companies never find what they set out to find. They end up swapping and changing assets, tenements, minerals, etc according to what's fashionable, and then continue paddling along, raising capital on the latest craze. Some companies seem to be able to do this for many, many years.... some simply fail and cease to exist.

This company, EVION (formerly BEM), has kept a sustained focus on their flagship asset, The Maniry Graphite Project in Madagascar. The development of the Panthera Expandable Graphite business in India, albeit a standalone success story, is primarily aimed at being a downstream customer to the Maniry mine.

If (when?) Maniry approvals are forthcoming, if EU Grants and finance follow and the whole operation comes to life, what a fantastic outcome for the local community, the investors, the past and current management.... and us mugs
