It's confirmed. The RN 10 linking Andranovory-Toliara to Ambovombe Androy will be rehabilitated. The President of the Republic, Andry Rajoelina, during his visit to Ampanihy, Atsimo-Andrefana region last Sunday for the distribution of solar lamps to vulnerable households, underlined this. “Within three months at the latest, the rehabilitation work on the Ampanihy-Beloha-Tsihombe-Ambovombe portion will begin. Calls for tenders have already been launched. The work will then continue on the other portion going from Ampanihy to Andranovory, via Betioky and Tongobory,” he declared. He also specified that he greatly contributed to the mobilization of funds to finance this work and that $400 million was granted by the World Bank. Andry Rajoelina thus reassured the population and users of this national road by promising that the Ampanihy district will no longer be “landlocked”. International calls for tenders for the rehabilitation work on the RN10 for the Ampanihy-Ambovombe portion were launched on February 7. This involves bituminizing work divided into two lots. The first batch leaves from PK 215+700 in Ampanihy to Beloha PK 308+600, and the second batch leaves from Beloha to Ambovombe at PK 420+366 of the RN10. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
