It was reasonably easy to believe that the magic "1600" number would act as a magnet, pulling the PoG up to meet it. Traders want to see nice round numbers achieved but if the underlying fundamentals don't justify it, the mark is quickly lost back again. The way gold jumped past that to settle now at $1610 currently, suggests a big tailwind momentum. Anyone watching how crazy the price of TSLA has acted recently appreciates the whole "animal spirits" dynamic.
