And there in lies how people miss opportunities in the gold mining space... Far too many focus on the gold price yet that is only 1/3 of the equation. Production ounces and cost is the other 2/3. If one is inclined to read and believe that EVN can achieve the guidance this FY then it is rather significant increase in earnings compared to last FY. Higher gold price from here is just icing on the cake.

But who am I kidding. Punters betting on the gold price + Henny Penny's and Chicken Littles positioning themselves into Gold Miners because the sky is falling! All of which are near sighted weak hands and easy pickings for shorts... Some nice bedfellows in EVN that's for sure.

Look I get it. People are lazy, its easier to google the gold price and think of production and cost as a constant than doing simple maths. It's only 1/3 of the picture but who cares...
