Wow oh wow.
Do I read that correctly ? They have now separated the root extract down to it's components ,NMRd and worked out they work because of the terpenoids? And now looking for more related structures cos it's a fairly basic molecule?
Sorry I had figured they'd knew there was some novel compound in the original extract and hadn't bothered to do any single component formula as they figured that it would be easier to get passed as a simple botanical extract?
These compounds are very basic biological compounds and are widespread throughout plants etc , made from IPP and derivatives....halogenated versions are found in marine sponges etc and were anticancer compounds of interest 20+ years ago.
If we are talking basic monoterpenes work as fgf5 inhibitors , you could literally make a good brew up between your garage and your pantry and it could work.
Still obviously a lot of testing etc to get a similar produc to Market but it's a bit of a giveaway.
