It's been my experience that assuming is for fools.
Let me throw you a bone.
I'd say that Darwin was more than likely sincere in his belief when he penned The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life". . Probably no less sincere than Hitler was when he penned Mein Kampf.
That doesn't mean that either of them was correct with their sincerity.
