The above isn't wrong. But it is interesting to keep in mind that he was God long before he created the Jews or the nation of Israel. The Jews were merely a means to have a nation worshiping the true god so that the Messiah could be born into it. Unfortunately due to false teachings of the Pharisees they killed the very Messiah that they had been waiting on.

I only say that as after Christ no other Messiah arrived and the nation of Israel ceased to exist after 70AD (only recently re-emerging).
