"I prefer that science itself is pure but humans of course are prone to make mistakes etc .."
That's nice.
Actually that's the same rationale that Christians use in regard to their famous "sin" and why it needed supernatural intervention and human sacrifice to allow believers to continue in their "sin-full" ways.
"Science" and the scientific method are fine.
Religion is fine.
Democracy is fine.
Socialism is fine.
All Government is fine.
Compassion is fine.
Unfortunately, humans are humans and impose their own practical outcome on any of the above and often it is not fine.
