Alan - what created the thousands of gods worshipped in all the many human cultures since religion first started?

My answer - human beings created Isis, Baal, Thor, Ishtar, Venus, Apollo etc etc etc. As people do not believe in these gods' power any longer, they no longer exist.

Of course in the past their worshippers believed in them fanatically. Interesting that over the millenia and now, believers know absolutely that their god is the only one.

If heaven exists, I imagine the many sects of modern religions will have to be walled off in ghettos to stop them fighting. That presumes that bricks exist in a non material place.
