I have no doubt that you are a clever fellow.
You must have studied the origin of the name Jehovah. It has its roots in an ancient Egyptian religion where Yahweh competed with other gods to become the dominant god.
Nobody has a clue as to how the tetragrammaton is pronounced. So Jehovah is a name derived from the evolution of the name of an Egyptian god. The name was popularised by William Tyndale and used by protestants for awhile till it was replaced by Lord.
It was never a name but rather a respectful exchange when referring to God. He who causes to be or some such.
But for the the sake of this all important Bible accuracy that is in the forefront of Jehovah Witnesses lives is this not the easiest of all inaccuracies to clear up.

The name is a construct that is derived from on not a single shred of evidence. That's okay because language is dynamic and constantly changing. So if we use it as a title meaning 'He who causes to be' well and good so long as we do not imagine that it is God's name. Because like you said, things have names. God is not a thing.
