How can any country or company compete when power prices are US$0.16/kWh. In the EU prices are closer to US$0.40/kWh so its no wonder that most aluminum and alloy smelters are closed and no longer competitive all due to the renewable power thats unreliable and intermittent. Malaysia has some of the cheapest power in the world at Sarawak where companies like Press Metal aluminum and OM Holdings have power prices around US$0.03/kWh on 20 year contracts.
