Forgot to say the power grid itself does from time to time depending on demand does go capacitive and inductive ie current leading or lagging respectively and the base load power stations can "export" or "import" VARs (volt amp reactance) to reach unity power.( Current in phase with voltage). Ie POWER FACTor=1. Capacitor banks in substations tends to be for localised inductances from inductors in that area, ie transformers around the power stations etc. Back to Lynas does anyone have any knowledge if Malaysia has any plans to process RE minerals in parallel to Lynas.
