I recall the first time I ever saw a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan Cedric - in the 1960s 'Made in Japan' equated to being cheap rubbish. Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans are now widely recognised as the world's most reliable FFVs.
IMO we're now seeing history repeat with Biden labelling Chinese EVs cheap rubbish and whacking 100% import duties on them to protect his home-grown US rubbish and all those gas-guzzling SUVs America still produces.
Similarly with solar panels.
Our original Fronius inverter died at 8 years of age and neither the installer [Origin Energy] and the company was of no help to us whatsoever - they just wiped their hands of us. Our sparky advised replacing the system with a Chinese made Sungrow inverter [solid state, massive heat sink and NO fan] and Chinese Trina Solar panels - nine years later the system has survived everything our weather extremes has thrown at it.
