    I would agree that for educated minds that civilization does indeed have overcoming instinct and emotion as a goal

    however -------------- IMO ------------ it's almost an impossible task

    our base primal drives are so strong that almost none of us recognises our subconscious behaviours - consciously

    and, yes, for others - some of us do recognise our subconscious behaviours

    you just have to be on the lookout for them - reading body language, reading your own feelings, thoughts, linkage of thoughts, reactions


    it's also a very easy exercise to trigger the primal instincts in other humans

    I tend to not to try and do it unless I have a clear and moral reason for doing so - because humans are very very predictable if you push the right buttons


    I think we are nothing but a highly emotional and instinctive animal - who has gods own trouble of controlling those forces - it can be done - but, boy - it's not easy and if you had to do it for a long time - basically -- you go crazy
