@ex bull; sleepy ol' Joe Biden is trying damn hard to pump up Tesla's tyres - the World's lying, cheating, thieving 'free market champion country' is imposing a 100% import duty on Chinese EVs because they're better and half the price of what the US builds.
That said, one of my brothers bought a Tesla in 2018 and has already runup roughly 150,000 kms in it - the only problem he has is that when passing cemeteries it 'sees ghosts' and unexpectedly activates emergency braking. Battery interfaces perfectly with his home solar system - cheap as chips to own and he just loves the effortless and dead quiet pulling power.
Chinese EVs will be like our Chinese solar panels and our solid state Sungrow inverter that's already eight years old after our original expensive fan-cooled Fronius inverter died aged seven years and the company wasn't the least bit interested in hearing about it.
