t.@Q.... Your only intent is to ridicule . Do you think I could spend 30 years in Electronics without knowing the difference between an Anode and a Cathode? However I do take your point on separator,Samsung Battery disaster rather than insulator. However if you use separator you will find the nub of my argument to be correct.

    On Plates: Quote.

\AbstractThe positive active-material of lead–acid batteries is lead dioxide. During discharge, part of the material is reduced to lead sulfate; the reaction is reversed on charging. There are three types of positive electrodes: Planté, tubular and flat plates. The Planté design was used in the early days of lead–acid batteries and is still produced today for certain applications. Tubular plates are chosen for heavy cycling operations. Most positive electrodes are flat plates and are employed in all starter batteries. The principal failure modes of the positive material are sulfation and premature capacity loss (PCL). In recent years, considerable progress has been made in enhancing the cycling performance of the positive plate. Nowadays, excellent cycling performance can even be achieved with positive plates that have grids made from lead–calcium alloys. Nevertheless, there is still scope for further improvement.

Using a battery for a long time degrades the internal components such as circuits, electrode plates, electrolytes, etc. The electrodes and electrolytes used in the LiFePO4 battery are more sensitive to the reaction time than the Lead plates of other batteries. Hence, with regular use, the reaction capability of the LiFePO4 batteries degrades.

If they keep building "Prismatic" batteries then lates" would still be a good way to describe the electrode Plates. The more plates the more amps.

    On the miniaturization of batteries:

Nobody yet knows if the Note 7 battery has suffered a similar problem. Today’s battery technology has moved on, packing more energy into the same space than in 2006. Modern batteries are built using advanced manufacturing techniques that coat powerful thin layers of active electrode materials onto thin aluminium and copper foils.

My dear boy. If you and your kind concentrated on learniing something rather than trying to denigrate others, the world might be a better place. I certainly fixed many a bully in my younger days. But then. I was a damn good engineer.

    Regards....Marum.
