There is a trend to exhaust zero-emissions vehicles and we simply cant take the current state of technology and assume that that's it.
Just consider the progress that has been made since the Nissan Leaf was introduced 10 years ago. While the Chinese are pumping our EV with current technology, IMO, Japan, South Korea and Germany will be working like beavers to perfect EVs while the Chinese will take down prices via an economy of scale.
The EC has plans to ban the sale of new ICEs by 2035 which is only 13 years away!
