    IMO the achillies heel of EVs is the cost/durability of the battery

    You forgot to mention the environmental issues and the 'scam' about CO2:

    EV promoters keep saying that it is cheaper to recharge an EV at home or via public network chargers - some of the latter may be 'free' at present - aka subsidised or a business bears the cost.

    As energy prices are rising rapidly with no end in sight and possibly will be fuelled even more so with more EV's needing charging, it begs the question how long will it be allegedly 'cheaper' and for how long will public chargers be 'free'? Bear in mind, there is no such thing as a 'free' lunch - somebody somewhere pays. AIMO
