When someone can lease an EV for the same price as a 10 to 12 year old Hyundai, what would you expect? How many will be bought under the current fringe benefit scheme currently without any road maintenance excise applied to them via fuel or rego. How long do you think the government will wait before trying to tax them?
Right now one can lease an EV, 100% pre tax deductible, no GST on purchase or running costs, no stamp duty, etc... This absolutely WILL NOT last and is 1000% why you see them multiplying on the roads like Newstart recipients did when Howard introduced the baby bonus as a lump sum instead of a tax exemption...
