You obviously don't understand Californian Tech companies at all. They tend not to generate profits and pay dividends like ASX companies do. Instead they re-invest all of their income to build the business. Shareholders on the NASDAQ profit from capital gains.
And the Tesla stock has given stockholders more capital gains than many other stocks I could name. Tesla's 5 Year return is 2000%. A $5000 investment in 2019 is worth $100000 now.
I wouldn't call investors making that kind of return dull.
