Agreed Josh. Howard was a lazy and cynical PM, content to use welfare churn and pork barrelling from the mining boom to keep buying himself extra time (though Beazley/Latham were unimpressive alternatives), while leaving festering problems in taxation, higher education, infrastructure and Telstra for others to sort out.
