How much "full and proper scrutiny "do we need with Saddam Hussein. If the UN will not act decisively who will? He is a blot on humanity and the US has stated that he will be removed with the UN if possible or without if necessary. The UN has a place but it will never be a world government as no major power will ever cede autonomy to it and find policies of national interest being over-ruled by a ragtag bunch of thirdworld countries. The overwhelming power held by the US is an indisputable fact and I guess we should be happy that the US is a democracy of sortsand hope that US national policy coincides with the interests of the world at large more often than not.
