What the ???. That's like refusing a pay rise because you are going to pay more tax. How pray tell are you going to increase your nett worth or achieve financial independence without paying more tax along the way.
Dividend income comes with the bonus of franking credits, ask your accountant how you can structure your affairs to minimize your tax. One thing I can suggest is for you to have no debt on anything that is non deductible. Ie only have debt on tax deductible income producing or growth assets.
