Remember too that all over the world, credit spreads have been increasing at unprecedented levels, beyond any central bank discretionary policy moves, the LIBOR is a good indicator of this. Stevens is not in the business of protecting companies with more debt than brains, or investors who willingly take on risk in the markets. Would you prefer inflation to eat away at the whole countries wealth and international competitiveness, so that you could be spared from your own misjudgement in the market?
